Content Management
There are many different ways to optimise your content management system, but you should consider what flaws you have in the system you are currently using before trying to make your system better. Successful methods often depend on the type of website you are using, for example a news site would use content management in a different way to an educational institution site. As such, your content management practises and goals may vary, even between web pages.
If you do not have a team of people working on content management, it may be a good idea to start, as it often works best when it is a collaborative process. It will mean that there is a greater chance that the content you put out is fully optimised from several different points of view, which will help to get your site noticed. You should have one or two creators of content, who will write the basic content and refine it from an editorial perspective. Then you need a publisher to put the content up on the website, and an administrator who will have control over access to files and may even help with the editing process.
It is also useful to have someone in charge of editing older content that may have become incorrect or out of date. Such content needs to be updated, and as all of your content may be subject to this at some point, you will need to check it regularly to make sure that everything is accurate.
