SEO
SEO refers to Search Engine Optimization which is the process of improving the visibility of a website or webpage generated by a search engine. SEO is an internet marketing tool as it considers how a specific search engine works and what people are using the search engine to look for. In order to optimise a website to help internet marketing changes may be needed for the content and HMTL.
Search engines have been around for many years and they are used in everyday life so advances to make them more user friendly have been crucial. Many of the search engines use different methods to generate their search results. Some of the leading search engines use crawlers to find their search results; in some cases a cost per click or a set fee applies to the use of crawling through a paid submission service. The service of crawling can provide good pages to their users but some sites have anti-crawling devices to prevent the showing of unhelpful information.
SEO is not necessarily a good tool to use for every single website as for some sites it is not appropriate. In these cases other internet marketing strategies should be used to provide a more useful service. In some cases SEO can provide a return or investment, however, this is not guaranteed and if a business is reliant upon traffic from a search engine it could cause major losses to a company if the site stops sending referrals to the site and the company should avoid relying upon this method.
